Donkey Baseball (1930s)

In the thirties there was a strange fad of donkey baseball that has been revived sporadically ever since. Basically it is like normal baseball except that every player was to get around on a donkey. The donkeys are not always co-operative which presumably adds entertainment value.

In the modern era People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PeTA) oppose this sport because it is generally not a lot of fun for the donkeys.

Dancing with Dogs (1989)

Dancing with dogs, a.k.a. musical canine freestyle, was invented in the late 80s. Several countries hold competition scored using a combination of obedience and dance rules.

Marco Evaristti Puts Goldfish in Blenders (2000)

Artist Marco Evaristti made an art exhibit in Denmark where ten goldfish swam inside blenders.  Members of the public could turn the blenders on if they wished. Due to public outrage the blenders were unplugged. the museum direct was ultimately found not to be guilty of animal cruelty because the method of killing is rapid.

Jasha Lottin Poses Inside Dead Horse (2011)

Jasha Lottinis a model who purchased a horse that was ill and scheduled for euthanasia. She then killed it humanely with a gunshot and posed nude inside the carcass to re-enact the scene from Star Wars where Luke Skywalker is warmed up by being placed inside the warm body of a freshly killed tauntaun. There really are some strange people in this world aren't there? The goldfish in a blender thing is just cruel and sick. As someone who had always been a lover of the arts, I find nothing artistic or interesting in sticking fish in blenders anyway. The last one about the model posing in a dead horse is disturbing. I opted not to see the pic and glad you put a warning there. Maybe I'll take a look when im feeling brave. Lol.. Great work here, voted up & interesting.
